Due diligence as a tool for the food, agriculture and tourism workers to hold companies accountable

We are back at it again and this time, Syndex is teaming up with EFFAT to provide their affiliates and policy makers with a training on due diligence in a in a 2-day online event.

Over 50 participants from trade unions all over Europe are coming together on 17 and 18 March in an online event to discuss ‘Company Due Diligence and non-financial information: threats or new leverages for workers’ representatives?’

 

On Thursday, participants will debate the political framework of due diligence in two panel discussions. One will reflect on ways towards a binding European legislation and the other  on how a binding UN Treaty on business and human rights could support due diligence and non-financial reporting of companies. 

Panelists will include Lucrezia Busa, Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Reynders; Isabelle Schömann, ETUC Confederal Secretary; Claudia Saller, Director General of ECCJ (European Coalition for Corporate Justice); Paul de Clerk, Economic justice coordinator at Friends of the Earth Europe; Ruwan Subasinghe, Legal Director at ITF and Jill McArdle, Corporate Accountability Campaigner at Friends of the Earth Europe.
