HOW ARE EUROPEAN WORKS COUNCILS FARING?
May 2019 will mark 10 years since the directive on European Works Councils was recast. On this occasion, Syndex, known as a pioneer in supporting employee representatives, will hold a conference that will gather together EWC’s representatives coming from all across Europe.

This event will be the occasion to discuss and assess the current EWCs situation. Beyond complying with the right to transnational information and consultation, the EWC is potentially both a tool for social dialogue and trade union coordination.
Have EWCs managed to grasp the main issues impacting companies such as digitalisation, job trends and changes in working conditions or subcontracting? How do they benefit from external support, and in particular, trade union and/or technical expertise?
