Partnership in Romania

On 4 June 2009, Syndex signed a partnership charter with the Romanian Steelworkers Federation, Metarom.

Under this charter, the Syndex group makes available its experiences in France and Romania in order to provide Metarom with the best services in the following areas:

  • Assistance to the trade union in carrying out macro-economic studies;
  • Assistance to company trade union teams;
  • Training of trade union representatives in economics and social dialogue;
  • Expertise during restructuring;
  • Preparing of European projects.

The choice by Metarom to enter into a partnership with Syndex comes at a time when the principle of the use, by works councils and steelworker branches, of independent expertise paid for by company management has been introduced into negotiation in the steelworkers’ collective bargaining agreement.

Syndex has made a commitment to develop a permanent structure in Romania in the long term. Marcel Spatari is currently the Syndex representative in Bucharest.
